Panchayat Raj High school, Kanapura, Kamakhyanagar, Odisha, India is the brain child of some eminent personalities of Kanapura, Ektali, Jantaribol, Palli Santarapur, Rajakulakaten, etc. in the year 1992 just one year after the profound success of Prakruti Surakhya Samithi, Kanapura, a leading Organization of Kanapura Village. From among them Sri Prabhakar Rout, Dandadhar Rout, Dolagobinda Rout, Artabandhu Biswal, Sarangadhara Rout, Tirthabasi Patra, Chanchala Rout, Ananta Charan Rout, Golabasa Mohanty were prominent.Later they have been perfectly replaced by Mihir Kumar Rout, Suryakanta Biswal, Prahallad Sahu, Pankaj Mohanty, Krushna Chandra Rout, Rabi Kumar samal, etc.

This school is recognized by the Director of secondary Education, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and affiliated to the Board of secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack. It is an Odia medium school with Co-Education facility consisting of three classes Viz. VIII, IX & X with Hostel facilities both for boys and girls. Presently it is receiving 60% Block Grant from Govt. of Odisha, Department of S&ME, Odisha. The school has been backed by renowned Political leaders of Odisha like Dr. Nrusingha Sahoo, Sri Dharmendra Pradhan, Rudranarayan Pani, Prafulla Kumar Mallik, Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan latter specially visited by Sri Surendra Nath Naik, Hon’ble Minister S&ME, Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha, Hon’ble Minister SC/ST Development. Moreover, eminent educationist like Dr. Sitakantha Dash (NRI-USA), Dr. Sahadev Sahoo, IAS (Former Chief Secretary),Sri Nimain Charan Swain(OES-I),Sri Basanta Kumar Majhi(OAS), Sri Mayadhar Pani(OES-I),Sri Dukhabandhu Biswal(National Awardee), Batakrishna Das(State Awardee), Pramod Kumar Mishra, etc.have extended their consistent effort to promote the institution.
